Sharia and Living Laws aims to serve as a crucial publication platform for high-quality research exploring the development of Sharia and Living Law within society, particularly in Indonesia. The Indonesian context is significant, not only due to the country's status as the world's most populous Muslim nation but also because of its pluralistic customary legal systems, which have been preserved through generations as living law frameworks within society. Consequently, the journal primarily focuses on empirical legal research, providing practical insights into how Islamic law and customary law contribute to shaping Indonesia's complex and unique legal order.
